1.8 micron aluminium foil for ribbon microphones
Size of sheet – 100 mm x 50 mm (4″ x 2″)
99% Aluminium. Made in Japan using a vapor deposition
method to achieve exacting tolerances.
1.8 micron foil is a standard thickness used in many famous
ribbon microphones. 1.8 micron foil provides better transient
response and signal output than thicker foil.
Based on a 5mm ribbon width and 50mm length, with this
piece of foil at least 9 separate ribbons can be cut.
When shipped our foils are packed in between sheets of
thin paper and two sheets of hard cardboard carton.
The package is then mailed in a bubble envelope.
CAUTION:
1.8 micron foil is extremely fragile, handle it with care.
Use very sharp instruments to cut, otherwise you will
damage the foil.
