Description
Made in Japan using a vapor deposition method to achieve exacting tolerances.
4 micron foil is used in ribbon microphones where a more
robust ribbon element is needed.
On stage, ribbons may be exposed to excessive vibration,
wind or very loud sources which could cause a lighter
ribbon element to deform or tear.
One of the advantages of using a thicker ribbon is that it is possible to also use
a higher turns ratio transformer in your mic to boost it’s output signal while at the same time
avoiding noise problems that can occur when using a high ratio transformer with thinner ribbons.
4 micron foil is considerably easier to work with than thinner foils.
Size of sheet – 100 mm x 60 mm (3.94″ x 2.36″)
When shipped our foils are packed in between sheets of
thin paper and two sheets of hard cardboard carton.
The package is then mailed in a bubble envelope.
